The proposed amendment precisely tracks Roe v Wade, which itself was a moderate compromise that won 7 of 9 Supreme Court votes. It is shameful that abortion opponents feel the need to lie about the proposed amendment to try to garner opposition. It is also disappointing that Dakota Scout has assisted in spreading misinformation y allowing its platform to be used to claim the proposed amendment is "radical" or anything other than an adoption of the Roe v Wade analysis.

Well said. It’s pretty obvious that they’re terrified at whole concept of letting the people of South Dakota choose. They know they’ll loose.

Ms Johnson's reply is spot on and clarifies the intent and parameters of the petition to put the question in front of voters; a ballot question that the opponents dread. Do only the "holier-than-thou" extremists know what is good for South Dakota? Hear their shrill replies! "Run away" from the petition, "most pro-abortion doctors" and their flimsy reasons (like the life of the Mother??) will invent reasons to abort a fetus, and like Elmer Fudd, "be vewy, vewy" afwaid" of CHOICE. Our state motto is, "Under God, the People Rule," now let's grant us our voice. Sign the petition!

Run as far away from anyone asking you to sign the petition as possible! We all know that "the health of the mother" can vary from doctor to doctor, and most pro-abortion doctors can come up with any flimsy reason to abort. Yay, death and destruction.
