LETTER: Pallet company's success means a more sustainable, environmentally-friendly Sioux Falls
As a proud resident of Sioux Falls, I am writing to urge the local authorities to grant Mueller Pallets, LLC, a conditional use permit for establishing a rubble site approximately a half mile west of the Sioux Falls Regional Landfill. This location and the operations of Mueller Pallets will not only benefit our community but also contribute to sustainable waste management practices and promote the production of recyclable agricultural products. Â
Mueller Pallets has been at the forefront of recycling in South Dakota for over four decades. Our expertise and commitment to environmental preservation have successfully transformed waste materials into valuable products that would otherwise occupy precious space in landfills. Mueller Pallets strictly adheres to responsible recycling practices by not accepting any toxic or chemically treated waste.
This woman-owned business is an integral part of our local economy and currently employs 43 individuals who all reside in the Sioux Falls area with their families. By supporting their efforts through granting the conditional use permit for a rubble site, we can create more job opportunities and strengthen our community's economic growth.
Furthermore, having a designated location for recycling purposes will greatly benefit citizens and taxpayers. Currently, there is limited access to proper recycling facilities in Sioux Falls. By establishing this rubble site near the Sioux Falls Regional Landfill, the community of Sioux Falls and surrounding communities will have an easily accessible place where they can recycle their trees and wood waste efficiently. Â
The importance of recycling cannot be overstated when it comes to preserving our environment for future generations. Recycling reduces greenhouse gas emissions, conserves natural resources such as timber and water while minimizing pollution associated with landfilling or incineration processes.
Let us come together as responsible citizens of Sioux Falls and show our continued commitment to sustainable waste management practices and the creation of recyclable agricultural products.
Together, we can make a positive impact on our environment, create local jobs, and ensure a greener future for Sioux Falls. Join us in urging the Minnehaha County Planning Commission to grant Mueller Pallets the conditional use permit they need to establish a free to the community rubble site approximately a half mile west of the Sioux Falls Regional Landfill and consider signing our petition at https://chng.it/pTySVVfTfJ
Thank you for your support of my company for all these years. Your voice will be heard.

Not a fan of anyone patting themselves on their back. Better off if a non connected person had penned these comments.
They do a great job recycling and it's free . What is wrong with that? Any business person should be proud of that, would it be better if they were buying airtime on local media?
