Letter: Johnson impressed at school board election forum

I had the opportunity to attend the League of Sioux Falls Women Voters and Greater Sioux Falls Chamber of Commerce Sioux Falls School Board candidate forum on May 4 at the Instructional Planning Center. Please go to the YouTube SFSD Forum to view. Once you watch the performance of the two candidates, you will have an easy decision. Vote Dawn Marie Johnson. 

LETTER: Short-term rental bans are shortsighted

The forum was over for most everyone that attended within the first 10 minutes. For me, it only took the opening statements. Dawn Marie has the education and experience to best serve the Sioux Falls School District. If you have had the opportunity to meet her, you know her passion lies in doing what is best for children and our community. Through experience working in school districts and afterschool programs, Dawn Marie has proven that when children are given the support and tools necessary to succeed, they flourish. Several of Dawn Marie’s students attended the forum and sat in the front row to offer their support and to bear witness to Dawn Marie’s experience and commitment to the children in the Sioux Falls School District.

The Sioux Falls School Board is a non-partisan board. Stable and competent leadership is more important for our local community than the toxic politics of the far left or far right. I am wholeheartedly supporting Dawn Marie Johnson with my vote and campaign contribution. I encourage you to do the same.
