Smart, level headed, grounded, common sense, empathetic, a family man, with lots of experience… all things we need in a VP… and if circumstances were to arise, truly someone qualified move to move from VP to the Presidency. But most importantly… Walz is is driven by a positive vision for all Americans… as opposed to the GOP candidates who are fueled by anger, grievance, hatred, misogyny and racism. It was predictable that our Governor would speak poorly about Minnesota's governor and the Democratic party's VP candidate because she has been licking Trump's boots for years. She won't step away from Trump even though he has lost the few marbles he has ever had and even though she was not chosen as his VP candidate. However, John Thune's drum beating for Trump is more disappointing. Thune knows how incapable Trump is and that he is a terrible choice for the country. Nevertheless, he bows to his master the Liar in Chief. Why? Because he's afraid to oppose him and risk not having enough support to get the leadership role. It's all about personal gain, the country be damned. That shows none of these three deserve to be in any elected office. We should send them home. Let's elect people that put the nation first, not their party and not themselves.

When he enlisted, he took an Oath "to protect and defend the United State from all enemies, foreign and domestic". ALL of us who served our country and communities in one form or another also took that Oath. The first time I did was in May 1964 at the Naval Training Center, San Diego and again in 1968 when I reenlisted in Saigon.
The next two times were in 2008 and 2010 after being elected to my small town council.
In all cases, I was not relieved of that Oath when I was retired or left office.
