South Dakota’s largest county is considering combining three elected offices into one position.
But first, voters — and county commissioners — in Minnehaha County will need to sign off on the plans.
County Commissioners Dean Karsky and Joe Kippley next week will unveil a proposal to establish what’s known as a home rule charter for Minnehaha County, a move that would create a county manager position and combine the offices of county auditor, treasurer, and register of deeds into a single department.
