Inmates indicted on attempted murder charges after prison guards attacked
Minnehaha County grand jury OKs charges stemming from August incident
A pair of inmates at the South Dakota State Penitentiary are facing attempted murder charges following an attack on prison guards this summer.
South Dakota Attorney General Marty Jackley announced Wednesday that inmates Lester M. Monroe, 48, and Kyle L. Jones, 30, have been indicted by a Minnehaha County grand jury on multiple charges for allegedly assaulting two state correctional officers on Aug. 24 at the Department of Corrections facility in Sioux Falls.
