‘Homeless doesn’t mean criminal’: Shelter addresses concerns about family service expansion
Bishop Dudley moving family units out of downtown
Residents of a central Sioux Falls neighborhood are worried the crime and nuisance that followed the opening of a homeless shelter nearly a decade ago will soon be on their doorsteps.
That’s because Bishop Dudley Hospitality House this year will relocate its family support services out of downtown and into their neighborhood two miles west.
“We see this as bringing our neighborhood down when we’ve worked so hard to improve it,” Mary Jo Honermann told The Dakota Scout last month.
