Governor to make swing through eastern and central South Dakota Wednesday
Gov. Kristi Noem will sign bills, host town halls in three cities
South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem will meet with constituents at several stops across the state on Wednesday.
Noem’s travels will start in Madison, where she will sign a bill on campus at Dakota State University that will fund the creation of the Center for Quantum Information Science and Technology on campus at 9 a.m. From there, Noem will go to Mitchell to sign two education bills into law — one to establish a minimum wage for teacher salaries and another bill allotting money to the Department of Education to provide professional development to teachers for the sake of improving how students learn to read.
Next, she will then host a town hall at Mitchell High School at 11:15 a.m.

From there, the governor will make one final stop in Winner, where she will host a town hall at the Winner Country Club at 2 p.m.
Each event will be streamed on the governor’s official Facebook page.
The scheduled appearances by the governor come just one week after the completion of the main run of the 2024 legislative session. Lawmakers are slated to return to Pierre on March 25 for Veto Day, if Noem vetoes any legislation sent to her desk by the Legislature. So far, she has not issued any vetoes.
The Dakota Scout will have coverage from Noem’s appearances throughout the rest of the week.
The three-city tour also comes at a time when Noem is among the top contenders to be picked by former President Donald Trump to be his 2024 running mate in Trump’s bid to reclaim the presidency.

Is there even a remote chance that one of these "town halls" includes a "Q and A" or genuine dialogue? Or is this tour just an ostentatious bill-signing display to convince us that Noem's primary job is governor of South Dakota and not head cheerleader for Trump and those various candidates he has endorsed? I do hope that some of those campaigns are helping defray the cost of her pompoms....
Will you be asking Governor Noem whether she supports helping Ukraine defend itself with further military assistance; for comment and follow up on Viktor Orban consultations with Mr Trump; and whether she has a comment on Mr Trump mocking President Biden for his stutter; whether he is a good example for children’s conduct and civility?
