Today Amazon once again reduced the price of Noem's book—not yet on the shelves. It's now being offered at a 37% discount. If too many more questionable anecdotes like staring down Kim Jong Un or standing up Emmanuel Macron* are uncovered, there will be no going back for this book as it moves to the fantasy shelf of the fiction section. Kristi's egotism and cockiness are utterly astounding, e.g. "Dealing with foreign leaders takes resolve, preparation and determination. My experiences on those many foreign trips made me a better member of Congress and a stronger governor. It allowed me to hone my deal-making skills, which play a crucial role in leadership." In her eight years in the U.S. House, Noem sponsored one bill—that's right, one—that became law, the uncontroversial Black Hills Cemetery Act. Deal-making skills? Leadership? If I weren't still brooding over poor Cricket, I'd be laughing hysterically at her chutzpah. [*As for Noem's French experience, I urge you to find the tiresome "I'm Kristi" spiel she gave to a very small right-wing audience in Paris last November. Other than fellow "presenter" Corey Lewandowski, few seemed to had any idea who she was. And fewer still seemed to care.

Noem just recently said her account of killing a puppy and a goat were "fake news." Hmmm, so does that mean her account of meeting Kim Jong Un and Macron were also fake news? As Miles notes, facts mean nothing and the truth is simply something to make up as you go. As this makes clear, like Fox and that ilk that know they are lying and do it anyway to serve their ends, how can she or the party she represents be trusted--and more importantly, why would we elect anyone that can't be trusted? Is that the kind of leadership this state or this country needs?

She is a Republican Trumper, and what has been the GOP norm since Trump came on the scene back in 2014? If the truth doesn't work for your needs, just lie! I have never seen the old saying, "The end justifies the means!" used to extremes like Republicans have over the past ten years! Facts mean nothing. Truth is weakness. But bottom line, Trump is a proven TRAITOR to our Democracy, and ANY supporter of Trump is a damned traitor, too! Just a sad, little, whiny fourth-grade playground bully!

Her book sounds like it's a long 'pick me' to Trump.

It's really too bad she wrote this book. Otherwise, she might have been Trump's running mate. That ticket would have been more likely to not be elected compared to many others.

And it would have been late night TV gold, which is the only thing that makes the marathon of an election cycle bearable.

"CONFLATED" is the new "LIE".

UPDATE: Since the original publication of this story, The Dakota Scout has been told: “The publisher will be addressing conflated world leaders’ names in the book before it is released.”

Conflated? How does one "conflate" Kim Jung Un with someone else? Perhaps this part was about the governor of North Dakota. Easily confused with North Korea.

Hilarious!

Wonder who Gov. Noem's ghostwriter was? Most books of this genre are ghostwritten.

She could not get a legitimate college degree, only a Fake One she Bullied out of SDSU. She couldn't write a book.

She recently acknowledge that she had a ghostwriter when she focused the blame for errors on that person.

Astonishingly, Noem is now pretending, through calculated evasion, that she might actually have met Kim Jong-un. It's mind-blowing. She refused to answer, directly, the simple yes/no question "Did you meet Kim Jung-un?" on the CBS programs. But she has taken it up a notch in the friendly confines of Fox. Here is the transcript of the pertinent part of her subsequent interview with Jesse Watters, another of those Fox scumbags. (Ask his first wife.)

Q: So they’re also attacking you, I guess you said you met Kim Jong-un. Did you meet him?

A: I’ve been to the DMZ. I’ve been to North Korea. You know I don’t talk about my conversations with world leaders. And so when I looked at the book and I saw that excert (sic) I decided to make those change (sic)to the content of the book and that’s been done

Q: You didn’t have a conversation with Kim when you were at the DMZ?

A: I don’t have conversations about my conversations with world leaders. I’ve been working on policy for 30 years, Jesse....

Q: So maybe you did/didn’t (?) have a conversation with Kim, but you don’t want to talk about it.

A: I will not talk about my conversations with any world leaders. I just won’t and I’m not going to do it.

To anybody who happens upon this comment, I submit that Noem's shelf-life as a politician has expired. She needs to resign. Although a comprehensive lack of integrity is not an impeachable offense under our state constitution, we do deserve a governor who doesn't look us in the eye and say "F-ck you, I don't owe you the truth."

Be careful if someone named Jill Barron calls to confirm her stories.
