Gov. Kristi Noem blames ghostwriter, editor for 'small errors' in upcoming book
South Dakota's VP hopeful walks back assertion she met North Korean dictator
Gov. Kristi Noem’s camp is attempting to clarify the circumstances around two alleged interactions with foreign leaders that she writes about in her forthcoming book, “No Going Back.”
The veracity of those incidents — a canceled meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron and a meeting with North Korean Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un — have been disputed by Macron’s office, North Korea experts and former congressional staffers.
The second-term Republican governor of South Dakota wrote she canceled a meeting with Macron in November when she was in Paris in protest of statements that she characterized as pro-Hamas by Macron. Hamas is the terrorist group that launched an attack on Israel on Oct. 7, taking hostages and prompting an armed incursion into the Gaza Strip by Israel in retaliation.
