Google to pay South Dakota $4.2M in legal settlement stemming from consumer protection violations
Google will pay the state of South Dakota more than $4 million in a multi-state legal settlement with the tech giant over location tracking practices.
Attorney General Mark Vargo Tuesday announced the settlement in which South Dakota and 39 other states has been reached and will force Google to pay out a total of $391.5 million.
It’s the largest multistate privacy settlement in U.S. history, according to a news release.
