USDA awards $3M for saplings in Sioux Falls after tens of thousands of trees cut down, sickened by infestation
The federal government is getting involved in the reforestation of Sioux Falls’ urban canopy, decimated by infestation and the preventative removal of tens of thousands of ash trees in recent years.
The United States Department of Agriculture Forest Service has awarded a $3 million grant to the city of Sioux Falls to cover the cost of planting 2,500 trees in public spaces like street boulevards and parks.
