Dan Kippley announces bid for office two years after son won seat
A Sioux Falls businessman wants to join his son on the Minnehaha County Commission.
Dan Kippley is the latest to announce a bid for the Minnehaha County Commission, becoming the third declared candidate in the race for two seats up for grabs in this year’s election.
The 63-year-old Republican joins incumbent Commission Chairman Dean Karsky and political activist Cole Heisey in the contest, setting up a primary election where the top two vote-getters will receive the GOP nomination in the general election in November. Commissioner Jean Bender, who’s eligible for another term, has chosen not to seek reelection.
