It’s been 45 years of this experiment that is the DOE. Every year since it started we have slid farther down. I will ask again . Why not try it? It has obviously not improved things but the exact opposite. I think it’s the person who is doing it is your reason for opposing it.

Because it will be the same as it is now on a larger scale, with no rules at all? Some places will do really well, and become the NY Yankees of school districts with great results on tests, high graduation rates, college acceptance/attendance rates consistently above average. Some schools will have other priorities entirely, because large numbers of their students go on to become high level professional athletes, and their facilities and stadium rival some universities.

My point is that without National standards, there's no one making sure ALL children learn. I suspect that's the real point of all of this, actually, not any kind of efficiency. Just the same casual racism/elitism that was there when he and his father were sued for housing discrimination back in the 70's and hasn't gotten better.

I knew it . It is because of who is doing it . Nothing will change your mind . That is sad in a lot of ways . Change is impossible with that kind of thinking.
