Ex-Mitchell Tech teacher alleges firing after complaints about porn, sexual harassment
Complaint says warnings went unheeded
A former Mitchell Technical College teacher has filed suit against the school, alleging he was terminated after reporting a colleague for sexually harassing students.
That colleague, contends plaintiff Michael Carpentier, touched students inappropriately and had discussions about pornography preferences with students. The colleague was the subject of multiple Title IX reports for his behavior, according to Carpentier’s complaint.
Carpentier had been an instructor of commercial truck driving at the school since 2017. His employment was conditioned on annual contracts. The last of those contracts was signed for the one-year period from Aug. 1, 2022 to July 31, 2023. That employment contract was signed by Mark Wilson, the school’s president, as well as officials with the Mitchell School District.
