Election vendor promises training for Minnehaha County auditor ahead of elections
Auditor Leah Anderson and supporters don't have confidence in tabulating machines
Officials with the longtime vendor of election machines in Minnehaha County acted professionally during an online meeting this month with county Auditor Leah Anderson, the state’s director of elections says.
Rachel Soulek, Secretary of State Monae Johnson’s director of elections, was one of six people from the Secretary of State’s Office who participated in the online meeting with Election Systems & Software, Anderson and Anderson’s election coordinator, Mike Mathis.

“ES&S listened attentively, answered all of the questions asked, and handled the call in a professional manner the entire time,” said Rachel Soulek in an email to The Dakota Scout.
Anderson and her supporters say that the inclusion of several ES&S officials on the call seemed like an attempt to intimidate her.
