Downtown land acquired for next big development
Riverline District includes parks, Drake Springs Pool and plenty of room for growth
A coalition of community leaders and business groups announced Tuesday that purchase agreements have been secured on two parcels of land southwest of Cliff Avenue and 10th Street.
The two tracts include the land where the state of South Dakota maintains offices, including the Department of Social Services, and the land formerly known as Stadium Court beneath the viaduct.
Those tracts will be rolled into the area which includes the Drake Springs Pool, Nelson Park and the future Sioux Falls Skatepark, as well as vacated rail switching yard land, to create the Riverline District.
