County director admonishes landfill over garbage on roadways
Wood recycler caught in dispute as city won't grant easement
The head of Minnehaha County’s Planning Department thinks the Sioux Falls Regional Sanitary Landfill needs to clean up its act.
Specifically, garbage that accumulates along roadways leading to the landfill.
Planning and Zoning Director Scott Anderson was blunt in his assessment during a meeting of the Solid Waste Planning Board on July 17. Anderson is a member of the board, which includes city employees, industry representatives and members of the counties that use the regional landfill.
“I would challenge the landfill to better address how we are all good neighbors and get that addressed,” Anderson said.
