Convention center not only option in revised $8M Riverline District contract
Councilors OK purchase agreement adjusted after formation of steering committee in September
City Hall has the go-ahead to purchase $8 million worth of land on the outskirts of downtown Sioux Falls, where a new convention center could someday be built.
The Sioux Falls City Council on Tuesday night approved a draft purchase agreement between the city and the private owner of seven acres where the convention center would anchor other redevelopment and the expansion of downtown to the east, an area being called the Riverline District.
