Brown County sheriff asserts commission 'wants to neuter’ his authority
Dave Lunzman requests compensation for coroner work as ongoing spat continues
An embattled sheriff in northeast South Dakota is again criticizing his county’s commissioners of undermining his ability do his job.
Sheriff Dave Lunzman on Tuesday told the Brown County Commissioners recent actions taken involving his office are impeding his ability to serve the county to the best of his abilities.
“The commission is basically wants to neuter my sheriff’s office and my powers” set out in state law, Lunzman said during the morning meeting at the Brown County Courthouse annex.
