Mefipristone has multiple health uses. It's used to treat endometriosis, uterine fibroid tumors, Cushing's syndrome, and is used when there's extreme post-partum bleeding. It's also used to help women who are having miscarriages, but there is difficulty expelling the remains out of the womb, and a D&C would be dangerous.

The idea that one judge in one county in one state can ban its use through the country is absolutely ridiculous.

I heard this morning that at least 27 women have died taking this drug. Not to mention the death that occurs every time it is used. I think the ACLU should be really proud of itself. Just not sure what they should be most proud of - killing babies under the guise of women’s health care or chopping off children’s body parts under the guise of gender-affirming care. I hope Samantha sees the light.

Here's the truth about the women who died.

The fatal cases are included regardless of causal attribution to mifepristone.

Deaths were associated with sepsis in eight of the 24 reported fatalities

two cases of homicide

two cases of combined drug intoxication/overdose

two cases of ruptured ectopic pregnancy

one case of substance abuse/drug overdose

one case of methadone overdose

one case of drug intoxication

one case of suspected homicide

one case of suicide

one case of delayed onset toxic shock-like syndrome

one case of hemorrhage

one case of unintentional overdose resulting in liver failure

one case of natural death due to severe pulmonary emphysema

one case the cause of death could not be established

No babies are being killed in medication abortion. That's inflammatory language. It's an embryo, approximately 4 mm long.

Mifepristone murders innocent babies. Life begins at conception. There are many methods of conception for those who do not want to have children. Premeditated murder is never the answer. Males who do not to have children can have vasectomies or use a condom. Women can take birth control pills, have an IUD or a patch inserted or have their tubes tied. Prevention of pregnancy is possible. Babies are a gift and should never be discarded.

Women are not allowed to have their tubes tied at most facilities until they reach a certain age. Avera refuses to provide the procedure for women in their 20's unless they get permission from the ethics board. Please tell me why female adults are unable to make decisions surrounding their own bodies?

Ectopic pregnancy; preeclampsia; intrauterine infection; placental abruption/previa; PROM (Pre-labor rupture of membraines); Antepartum Sepsis. There is no alternative to abortion for any of these except death. May none of your relatives ever have to experience them.

None of the laws in any of the states prevent treating these conditions, and you should stop spreading that lie.

Not a lie. The most recent session in SD had Republican legislators attempting to define when an abortion would be allowable to save the life of the mother (HB1169), yet it failed. So yes, women with these conditions are at risk of death due to not being able to have a medically necessary procedure.

It's not a lie. There has never been a transplant of a fetus from the fallopian tube (or in the abdomen itself) to the womb. If allowed to continue to grow outside the womb, it always kills the mother. To say otherwise is a lie.

To say that any of these six conditions do not cause the death of both the mother and the fetus is a lie.

And trying to get to a hospital in another state when bleeding out from preeclampsia or PROM will just kill them both faster.

The people who spread the lie can tell themselves, and everyone else, that their hands are clean - but they aren't.

No law in any state prevents medical treatment of those conditions. Stop spreading that lie.

Not yet. Meanwhile, here in South Dakota, everyone has known for decades that Avera will not perform any sort of abortion, even if the mother's life is in danger, and sends all patients with any of the 6 conditions over to Sioux Valley / Sanford Hospital. These days, the word is that Sanford won't touch them either, for fear that they will be sued if the woman isn't "close enough" to death to warrant an abortion. So while technically no law prevents it, doctors are afraid enough to not perform the procedure.

And don't forget that Idaho Republicans rejected an amendment to their party's platform that would have provided an exception for a mother who has an abortion to save her life.

https://idahocapitalsun.com/2022/07/16/no-exception-for-life-of-mother-included-in-idaho-gops-abortion-platform-language/

Anti-abortion-rights groups, like Pro-Life Wisconsin, have described the “life of the mother” exception as unnecessary and wrong. The Idaho GOP just approved a platform with no lifesaving exception. Republican candidates like Matthew DePerno, the Republican running to be Michigan’s attorney general, oppose all exceptions to abortion bans, and that includes to save a mother’s life.

Mifepristone is not safe for the baby. Just because the FDA approves a drug, doesn’t mean we should trust it and consider it safe. Look at the huge mistakes they made during the covid pandemic. The FDA is not to be relied upon. And we are not anti-abortion, we are pro-life and your reference to us in that manner is insulting should be disallowed by any and all publications of the caliber of this one. We are pro-life.

You also describe mutilating minors who are not even permitted to get a tattoo as some sort of gender-affirming care. It is the opposite. It is gender-DENYING-abuse. https://twitter.com/s_e_t_h_w_/status/1646509556455952384?s=20

I got this far: "Since mifepristone was initially approved by the FDA in 2000, more than 5 million people in the United States have safely ended their pregnancies using the drug."

That means more than 5,000,000,000 human babies have been killed by this drug since 2000. This in a country where birth control pills, condoms, diaphragms, and abstinence are available to prevent conception in the first place.
