A decade on the Minnehaha County Commission is enough for Jean Bender.
The attorney and longtime county commissioner from Brandon will not seek a third full-term in office after first being appointed to the position in 2015.
“It has been a tremendous honor and privilege to represent the citizens of Minnehaha County on the Minnehaha County Commission for the last 10 years,” Bender said in a statement provided to The Dakota Scout Monday evening, confirming she will not run for re-election. “I have tremendous respect for the dedicated employees of Minnehaha County, and I look forward to working with them and the other Minnehaha County Commissioners for the rest of 2024.”
