Ryan Spellerberg announces intention to run for city's Southwest District council seat
The Sioux Falls city election season is upon us.
Sioux Falls banker Ryan Spellerberg Monday became the first declared candidate in South Dakota’s largest city’s 2024 election, throwing his hat into the Southwest District race for Sioux Falls City Council.
“The American dream is alive and well in Sioux Falls,” Spellerberg said in a statement announcing his intention to run for the council spot that’s been held by Marshall Selberg since 2016. “I’m excited to serve the people of Sioux Falls and be their voice for the future of Sioux Falls.”
A North Dakota native, Spellerberg graduated from Northern State Univeristy with a degree in Business and Economics before moving to Sioux Falls with his wife, Emily, in 2008.
