Baltic mayor facing recall amid corruption, abuse of power accusations
Ouster attempt coincides with feud between city, developer
The mayor of a Sioux Falls-area suburb accused of misconduct and malfeasance in office is the subject of a recall a year into the job.
A newly-formed political action committee called South Dakotans for Transparent Government has launched efforts to recall Baltic Mayor Deborah McIsaac.
“This recall effort comes after numerous community examples of malfeasance in office, misconduct in office, and gross partiality by Mayor McIsaac,” according to a statement sent to The Dakota Scout. “Furthermore, the mayor has demonstrated a clear pattern of bad and biased behavior that puts the residents of Baltic and the progress of the community at significant risk.
