Yet another reason to dislike the Gannett gang which owns and runs the Argus. For decades, Gannett and the Argus hauled money out of Sioux Falls by the truckload, while giving very little back. Look how small they act when they have competition. Go Get ‘Em, Dakota Scout🙏
When the new EIC came, she set up a panel of "local experts" which was entirely on the left - Taneesha, Islam, etc. They were given op-ed cred, with no pretense to balance. I asked her if there was any opportunity for more conservative voices to be given space, and was firmly turned down. So, the AL is run by out-of-town interests without any attempt to reflect the conservative nature of most SF residents. I'm glad the DS is drinking their milkshake.
The Argus shouldn’t be considered a NEWS paper because of the delays in publishing stories. If it happens outside the 9-5 hours it won’t be in the daily waste of ink. Look at their”timely” coverage of 2nd Trump assassination attempt for an example.
Yeah, that's right. Law and Order are on trial, too. I don't want trump to be shot...but I want him behind bars where he belongs! One of the most disgusting human beings I've ever seen! Hitler used the Jews, and Trump is using immigrants. He MUST be stopped! Fools must stop believing everything he LIES about!
Dakota Scout has brought a mirror back to news. Reflecting facts rather than feeding us their version of them a la MSM, thus allowing us to draw our own conclusions and make up our own minds. THANK YOU!
LiferHQ has designated The Dakota Scout as my newspaper of record. Gannett is the US largest newspaper publisher as measured by total daily circulation. According to Wikipedia, it owns the national newspaper USA Today, as well as several local newspapers, including the Austin American-Statesman; Detroit Free Press; The Indianapolis Star; The Cincinnati Enquirer; The Columbus Dispatch; The Florida Times-Union in Jacksonville, Florida; The Tallahassee Democrat in Tallahassee, Florida; The Tennessean in Nashville, Tennessee; The Daily News Journal, in Murfreesboro, Tennessee; The Courier-Journal in Louisville, Kentucky; the Democrat and Chronicle in Rochester, New York; The Des Moines Register; the El Paso Times; The Arizona Republic in Phoenix, Arizona; The News-Press in Fort Myers, Florida; the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel; the Argus Leader, the Pueblo Chieftain, and the Great Falls Tribune.
I have thought about this a lot since this past June 2024. This potentially has more to do with how the "City" does business, more than about the little beef between the Argus and the Dakota Scout. I feel it has the Argus maybe pushing to use this court case to get into the public knowledge just some of the decision-making being done at City Hall, no Pund intended. When you take people to court, other things come out into the open, and when that happens, you begin to see what transpires behind closed doors. I have a suspicion, this case is about some of the secret meetings, the "Executive Sessions" that take place week after week. I have no skin in this argument. I am a subscriber to the Dakota Scout, and I like reading the paper, more so than I do the Argus. I am simply speaking from a position, that this court case may be the result of how the "City" does business, more than being butt hurt no longer being held as the official paper of the city itself.

Will the Argus exist when the lawsuit is settled? Gannett's papers are a dwindling thing. Local is better.

Man the powerful don't like to give up power. Can we donate to a legal fund anywhere?

Dakota Scout for local, Ken Klippenstein for foreign affairs.
Of course they are. <yawn>
