S.F. Parks Departments pens agreement with Harrisburg School District, Harrisburg City Hall not hot on offers
The city of Sioux Falls and the Harrisburg School District could partner on what would be the city’s first public pool south of 49th Street.
But ambitions to also bring the city of Harrisburg into the project could jeopardize the proposed 90th Street and Tomar Avenue location.
While not part of a proposed $77 million bond package for a pair of indoor and outdoor facilities and an already-operating wellness center, the Parks Department this spring entered into a memorandum of understanding with the Harrisburg School District outlining a preliminary agreement to allow the city to construct a pool on 5 acres of district-owned land adjacent to the newly opened Harrisburg Freshman Academy.
