Abrupt closure of Sioux Falls event business causes nationwide anger, concerns about lost money
XRX had been soliciting vendors, teachers for Stitches shows right before it shut down
The sudden demise of a decades-old Sioux Falls business has sent waves of shock and anger in the tight-knit yarn and fiber industry – both in the United States and beyond.
XRX Inc. announced in May on its website that “we find ourselves at the end” after more than 4 decades in business. XRX produced trade shows called Stitches Events across the country, popular with knitters and other crafters and a central place for vendors to sell products.
Now, many of those vendors, perhaps hundreds from across the country, are out the prepayments they had made to secure trade show booths at Stitches Events. Teachers are also out money.
