Restaurant offering breakfast special to celebrate 50th anniversary
The four books in each of the Fryn’ Pan Family Restaurants hold the treasures to the company’s success. The books are the keepers of the recipes crafted over decades by dozens who’ve cooked for the Sioux Falls staple.
Known by many for its breakfast – this author is partial to the supreme omelet – Fryn’ Pan’s menu spans to all mealtimes.
There are the soup recipes, among them vegetable beef – an elixir to some – and knoephla, a creamy German soup featuring dumplings, potatoes and bacon.
The spaghetti sauce recipe is the same developed decades ago by Mike Kearns, an original owner of the company. A plate of spaghetti sold for $3.75 in the early 1980s.
