South Dakota Board of Water and Natural Resources authorizes grants, loans for infrastructure improvements across state
The South Dakota Board of Water and Natural Resources Thursday signed off on more than $172 million worth of grants and low-interest loans for public works projects across the state.
Generated from a mixture of state and federal funds and awarded through the Department of Agriculture and Natural Resources (DANR), the $172,554,815 awarded consists of $20,007,550 in grants and $152,547,265 in low-interest loans, including $10,986,600 in principal forgiveness.
“I am pleased to announce this financial assistance is available,” DANR Secretary Hunter Roberts said. “Safe and reliable water, wastewater, and solid waste infrastructure help protect our environment and strengthen communities for our kids and grandkids.”
