Pipeline opposition testimony disqualified over submission of fabricated photo
Pennsylvania woman traveled to South Dakota to testify against Navigator CO2 project
PIERRE – A Pennsylvania woman who flew to South Dakota to testify on the Navigator CO2 pipeline had a portion of her testimony thrown out late Tuesday.
All because of a fabricated photo of a tractor.
Dana Bosma, who lives in a suburb of Philadelphia, testified before the Public Utilities Commission (PUC) on Aug. 3 against the Navigator pipeline.
Bosma, who owns land in Lincoln County along the proposed pipeline route, submitted a picture of a tractor submerged deep in mud, which she told the commission she took on her land in South Dakota. The image was intended to suggest that a piece of farm equipment could sink deep in the mud and ultimately hit a carbon pipeline, triggering an explosion.
